How to Configure Geyser to Connect Bedrock Players to Your Java Server

Editing the Geyser Config

After installing Geyser on your Java server, a config.yml file is generated in the Geyser plugin folder. Open it and locate the bedrock section. The most important setting is port, which controls the UDP port Bedrock clients connect to. The default is usually 19132, but you can change it if that port is already in use. Also check clone-remote-port — when enabled, Geyser tries to reuse the Java server's port for Bedrock connections, which is convenient on hosts that only allow one port.

Pointing Geyser at the Right Server

Under the remote section, set address to your Java server's IP and port to its Java port (commonly 25565). If Geyser runs as a plugin on the same server, address can usually stay as auto or localhost. If you run Geyser as a standalone proxy on a different machine, enter the actual Java server address. Set auth-type to match your Java server: use online for premium/authenticated servers, or floodgate if you also installed Floodgate so Bedrock players don't need Java accounts.

Applying and Testing

Save the file and restart the server or run the reload command your server supports. Then open Minecraft Bedrock Edition, go to Servers, add a new server with your Java server's IP and the Bedrock port you configured, and join. If the connection fails, verify the UDP port is open in your firewall and that auth-type matches your server's authentication mode.
