How to Stop Items From Combining Into One Giant Stack

If you want dropped items to stay separate instead of merging into a single pile, you need to change the mod's default behavior. By default, Get It Together Drops uses a very small search radius, so items only combine when they land almost on top of each other. To keep them apart entirely, you can use the item tag system.

Using the do_not_combine Tag

The mod adds an item tag called getittogetherdrops:do_not_combine. Any item added to this tag will never merge with other dropped items, no matter how close they are. This is useful for items you want to track individually, like named gear, or for preventing certain farm outputs from stacking.

To use it, open your datapack or mod's tag file and add the item IDs you want to exclude. For example, if you want diamonds to always stay as separate entities on the ground, add minecraft:diamond to the tag. You can add as many items as you like.

When to Use This

This is especially helpful in sorting systems or when you are testing redstone contraptions that rely on individual item entities. Keep in mind that more separate items means more entities loaded, which can hurt performance in large quantities. Use this tag sparingly if lag is a concern.
