How to Make Items Combine Even When They Are at Different Heights

By default, Get It Together Drops only combines items that are at roughly the same height. If one item is on the ground and another is sitting on a block above it, they will not merge. You can change this with the CheckY setting.

Enabling CheckY

Open the mod configuration. Find the CheckY option and set it to true. When enabled, items will look for other items to combine with even if they are at different Y levels within the search radius. This means an item on top of a chest can merge with one on the floor next to it.

This is particularly useful in multi-level farms, caves, or any build where items tend to land on different surfaces. For example, in a mob farm where drops fall onto multiple platforms, enabling CheckY will let all those drops consolidate into fewer entities.

Things to Watch Out For

When CheckY is on, items may combine across gaps that you did not expect, such as through a floor or ceiling if the radius is large enough. If you are using a small radius, this is rarely an issue. But if you have a large radius and CheckY enabled, you might see items merging through walls. Set CheckY back to false if you want the default behavior where height matters.
