Load Custom GeoJSON Overlays for Regional Mapping

Prepare Your GeoJSON File

Create or download a GeoJSON file containing geographic features—custom borders, regional zones, or historical boundaries. Ensure the file is properly formatted with valid coordinate arrays and feature properties.

Place the File in the Mod Folder

Locate your Geopolitical Radar Extension mod configuration directory (usually in .minecraft/config or a mod-specific folder). Drop your GeoJSON file directly into the designated overlays folder.

Enable the Overlay

Restart the game or reload the mod. Open your map and navigate to the overlay settings. Your custom GeoJSON should appear as an available layer—toggle it on to display your custom features.

Customize Appearance

Once loaded, you can adjust the color, opacity, and line style of your custom overlay to match your other map elements. This is useful for:

  • Marking historical nation territories
  • Highlighting resource-rich regions
  • Displaying server-wide event zones
  • Creating personal strategic planning layers

Troubleshoot

If your overlay doesn't appear, verify the GeoJSON syntax is valid and the file is in the correct folder.
