Where Pearls Come From

Gate Pearls are the item you use to open a Gateway. In normal play you obtain them as loot rather than crafting them from scratch — they appear in loot chests and as drops tied to the mod's progression. Check structure chests and any mod-added loot tables you come across while exploring.

Checking Recipes in Game

Because recipes can change between versions, do not trust a written ingredient list. Instead, open your recipe viewer (JEI or REI if you have one installed) and search for "Gate Pearl." That shows you the exact recipe or loot source for the version you are running. If the viewer shows no recipe, the Pearl is loot-only in your version.

Practical Advice

• Explore structures and dungeons; that is where Pearls most often turn up.
• If you find one Pearl, treat it as a single-use key — you spend it when you open a Gateway.
• Stockpile Pearls before attempting harder Gateways, since a failed attempt costs you the Pearl.
• Keep Pearls in a safe chest until you have gear ready, so you do not lose them on death.
