How to Choose Which Gateway to Open
Pearls Are Not All Equal
Different Gate Pearls open different Gateways, and each Gateway has its own difficulty and reward pool. A Pearl that spawns a few weak mobs is a safe early fight; another might throw bosses or large waves at you. Before placing a Pearl, check what it opens — the item's tooltip or your recipe/loot viewer usually tells you the Gateway it creates.
Matching Pearl to Your Gear
- Early game: use Pearls that open low-tier Gateways to farm basic drops safely.
- Mid game: try Gateways with tougher mobs once you have enchanted armor and a good weapon.
- Late game: save the hardest Pearls for when you have strong gear, potions, and a built arena.
Rewards and Risk
Harder Gateways generally give better loot, but the risk scales with them. If you are unsure, open an easier Pearl first to learn the wave pattern, then work up. Keep spare Pearls in a chest so a single bad fight does not wipe your supply. Build your arena and stock consumables before committing a valuable Pearl, and only open the Gateway when you are fully prepared to finish every wave.
