How to Use the Short /gm and /gm* Commands

The /gm Command

/gm is a shorter alias for /gamemode. It behaves identically, so every value that works with /gamemode also works here. Examples:

  • /gm c — creative
  • /gm 0 — survival
  • /gm sp — spectator
  • /gm 2 — adventure

You can still target other players: /gm c Alex.

The /gm* Commands

The mod also adds single-letter variants that skip the space entirely. These are the fastest way to switch modes:

  • /gmc — creative
  • /gms — survival
  • /gma — adventure
  • /gmsp — spectator

Note that the /gm* family does not accept numbers. If you type /gmc 1, it will not work — just use /gmc on its own. These commands also do not take a player name argument in the same way; they are meant for quickly changing your own mode.

When to Use Which

Use /gm when you want the flexibility of numbers or targeting another player. Use /gm* when you just want to flip your own mode as fast as possible. Both are configurable, so if one is missing, the server owner has turned it off.
