How to Parry Projectiles with Your Sword

Timing Your Parry

Projectile parrying lets you deflect arrows, fireballs, and other incoming projectiles back at enemies or harmlessly away. The key is timing—you must swing your sword just before the projectile hits you.

Steps to Parry Successfully

1. Hold your sword in your main hand and keep it ready

2. Watch the incoming projectile carefully as it travels toward you

3. Swing your sword (left-click) at the moment just before impact—not too early, not too late

4. If timed correctly, the projectile will be deflected

Tips for Consistent Parrying

  • Practice against skeletons first; they fire predictably and slowly
  • Remember that skeletons now visibly draw back their bows before firing, giving you a clear warning
  • Parrying works best when you're facing the projectile head-on
  • The deflected projectile travels in the direction your sword was swinging
  • You can parry multiple projectiles in succession if you time each swing correctly

Once you master the timing, parrying becomes a reliable defensive tool against ranged mobs and players.
