Gaia Tweaks Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I parry projectiles with my sword?
Hold your sword and time a click just before a projectile hits you—the arrow or other projectile will bounce back toward the attacker. Practice the timing, as clicking too early or too late won't deflect the shot.
Do I need a special sword to parry or does any sword work?
Any sword can parry projectiles; you don't need enchantments or a specific type. The parry mechanic works the same way regardless of sword material or rarity.
How do I climb ladders faster?
Look straight up while on a ladder and you'll climb faster automatically. You don't need to sprint or use any special keybind—just aim your view upward.
Can I rotate items in item frames to any angle?
Yes, item frames now rotate items in 45-degree increments instead of just 8 fixed positions, giving you much finer control over decoration angles. Right-click the frame to rotate the item.
How do I turn slabs and stairs back into full blocks?
Place two slabs of the same type together in a crafting grid to get a full block, or use the recipe reversal system to convert stairs back into their original block form. Check your recipe book for the exact layout.
Do I still have to pay XP to repair unenchanted items in an anvil?
No—repairing unenchanted items no longer costs XP, making early-game anvil use much cheaper. Enchanted items still require XP as normal.
What are underground biomes and where do I find them?
Underground biomes are small themed cavern areas that spawn beneath different surface biomes, adding variety to mining. You'll encounter them naturally while digging down; no special action is needed to find them.
Does this mod work with other mods like Tinkers' Construct or Create?
Gaia Tweaks includes compatibility adjustments for several popular mods, rebalancing spawners and crafting recipes where they overlap. Check the mod's documentation for a full list of supported mods.
Why are animals responding to food faster now?
The mod decreases the delay when tempting animals with food, so they react more quickly when you hold their favorite items. This makes breeding and herding feel more responsive.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag?
Gaia Tweaks is designed as a lightweight quality-of-life mod and should have minimal performance impact. If you experience issues, check for mod conflicts or ensure your Java settings are optimized.
