How to Sync Client and Server Settings With Fzzy Config

What Syncing Actually Does

Fzzy Config supports live updates to server settings from a client, and can forward client settings to other players. This matters on multiplayer: instead of editing files on the server and restarting, an operator can adjust supported settings while the server runs, and connected clients pick up the change.

Steps for a Server Operator

1. Join the server as an operator or with the permission level the mod requires.

2. Open the config screen for the mod you want to adjust, exactly as you would in singleplayer.

3. Change the setting. If the mod marks that setting as server-synced, the change is broadcast to connected players.

4. Confirm the change took effect by watching the behavior in-world or asking another player to check their side.

Steps for a Regular Player

  • Client-side settings you change are local to you unless the mod forwards them.
  • If a setting is server-controlled, your local edit may be ignored or overridden; the GUI usually indicates this.
  • If you cannot change a value, you likely lack permission, not that the mod is broken.

Not every setting is syncable. Purely visual or input-related options stay client-side by design.
