How to Change a Mod's Settings Safely Without Breaking Your World

Understand Which Settings Are Safe to Touch

Fzzy Config enforces acceptable ranges on numeric settings and validates text input, so you generally cannot type a value that would crash the game. That said, some settings change world generation, loot, or entity behavior, and changing those mid-save can cause odd results. Before editing:

  • Read the tooltip or description attached to each entry; Fzzy Config surfaces these in the GUI.
  • Prefer changing gameplay-affecting values on a fresh world or a backup copy first.
  • Note the current value before you change it so you can revert.

Making the Change

1. Open the relevant mod's config screen.

2. Use the search box to find the setting by name.

3. For numbers, drag the slider or type a value; the field will clamp to the allowed range.

4. For toggles, press Enter or Space.

5. For lists, add entries one at a time and confirm each; the mod will flag invalid tags or identifiers.

6. Watch for a save or apply indicator. Many Fzzy Config screens apply changes immediately, but some require you to close the screen to commit.

If something behaves unexpectedly, reopen the screen and restore your noted value, or reset that category to defaults if the mod offers it.
