How to Make Connected Glass Textures with Fusion

Setting Up the Base Texture

Fusion works by reading a .properties file placed next to a texture in your resource pack. To make glass connect, create a texture file (for example glass.png) inside assets/minecraft/textures/block/, then create a matching glass.properties file in the same folder. Inside that file, point Fusion at the connected variant using the connect or tint style keys documented by the mod, and reference a separate connected texture image (often a larger sheet of tiles) that Fusion will slice into the correct pieces.

Choosing a Layout

Fusion offers several connection layouts. The most common is the full 47-tile layout used for glass, which handles corners, edges, and inner corners. For simpler blocks, a compact layout that only checks the four cardinal neighbors may be enough. Set the layout in the properties file so Fusion knows how many tiles to expect and how to map neighbor states to tile indices.

Testing In-Game

Reload your resource pack with F3+T. Place a cluster of the block and check that edges, corners, and isolated blocks all render correctly. If seams appear, your tile sheet dimensions or layout count is wrong. If nothing connects, confirm the properties filename matches the texture filename exactly and that the block you are targeting actually uses that texture.
