Locate and Identify a Fungal Nexus Core
Finding the Infection Source
A Fungal Nexus core anchors itself to a specific location and begins spreading corruption outward. Look for these visual markers:
- Glowing dark structures rising from the ground with a central mass
- Corrupted terrain forming mounds, spiky towers, and craters in an expanding radius
- Infected mobs with glowing red eyes patrolling the area
- Fungal biomass blocks replacing grass, stone, and water
- Bile-filled cracks and unnatural terrain features
Confirming the Core Location
Once you spot corruption spreading, move closer to identify the exact core position. The Nexus will be stationary and typically at the center of the affected zone. Use the expanding radius of corruption as your guide—terrain transformation intensifies closer to the core.
Note the core's location relative to your base and any valuable structures. The corruption will continue spreading outward over time, so act quickly. Check your mod configuration file to understand the current phase thresholds and how much power the core has accumulated.
