Using KubeJS to Control FTB Quests Progression
Overview
FTB XMod Compat lets FTB Quests read progression from KubeJS instead of (or alongside) Game Stages. This is useful if you already script your pack's logic in KubeJS and want quests to react to custom events, item pickups, or dimension visits that you track yourself.
Steps
1. Confirm KubeJS and FTB Quests are installed. The compat layer activates automatically.
2. In your KubeJS scripts, define the custom progression flags or stages you want quests to check against.
3. Open the FTB Quests editor and set the relevant quest's requirement to reference the KubeJS-driven stage or condition.
4. Trigger the condition in-game (for example, by completing the action your script watches for) and verify the quest updates.
Tips
- Keep your KubeJS stage names consistent with what you type into the quest requirement, since a mismatch silently fails to unlock.
- Because the compat mod re-checks quest completion when stages change, you can grant a stage mid-session and the quest will respond right away.
- If you use both KubeJS and Game Stages, decide which one owns each progression flag to avoid conflicting unlocks.
