Preventing Ultimine From Breaking Blocks You Want to Keep

The Problem

Ultimine does not know which blocks are decorative and which are ore. If a valuable block is the same type as the one you are chaining, it gets broken too. This is the most common way players accidentally strip a floor or wall.

Safer Habits

1. Do not hold the Ultimine key while mining near builds. Release it and mine single blocks there.

2. Aim at the block you actually want to start from. The chain spreads from your target, so starting at the edge of a vein limits collateral.

3. Switch to a mode with a smaller footprint when working indoors.

Block Protection Options

Ultimine supports a way to mark blocks as protected so chains skip them. Look for the keybind or item that toggles protection on a block, and check the mod's config for whether protection is enabled on your server.

If You Already Broke Something

There is no undo. Recover by replacing the blocks manually. To avoid repeats, keep Ultimine off in storage rooms, farms, and anywhere you have placed blocks deliberately. Treat the key as a mining-only tool, not a general digging tool.
