Hold the Ultimine key (check your controls menu for the bind) and mine a block as normal — connected blocks of the same type will break together. If nothing happens, make sure the Ultiminer is in your inventory and that you're holding the key while you swing.

Ultimine is activated by a hold-to-mine keybind that you can find and rebind under Controls in the options menu. It is not a toggle by default, so you must keep holding it while breaking blocks.

The most common causes are not holding the keybind, not having the Ultiminer item, or having no hunger/durability to spend on the extra blocks. Check your keybind, your inventory, and your hunger bar before assuming the mod is broken.

Breaking extra blocks costs additional hunger (or tool durability, depending on config) for each block beyond the first. If you run out of hunger or the tool would break, Ultimine stops early rather than letting you mine for free.

Cycle between modes like shapeless, small tunnel, and others with the mode-switch keybind while Ultimine is active. The current mode is shown on screen so you can confirm which shape you're about to mine.

Shapeless breaks any connected blocks of the same type regardless of direction, while small tunnel carves a fixed-shaped corridor in the direction you're facing. Use shapeless for ore veins and small tunnel for quick mining shafts.

The block limit is controlled by your Ultimine config or by the tier of Ultiminer you're using, and it caps how many blocks a single activation can break. Lower the limit if you keep accidentally destroying more than you intended.

Switch to a more restrictive mode or lower your block limit so the spread can't reach blocks you want to preserve. You can also position yourself so the block you want to keep isn't connected to the vein you're mining.

Ultimine generally works with any block that has a normal block tag, including ores and blocks from other mods, as long as your tool can actually mine them. Blocks that require special harvest logic or are blacklisted in config won't be affected.

Breaking many blocks at once can cause a brief spike, especially with large limits or in dense areas, so servers often lower the block limit in config. If you notice lag, reduce your limit or switch to a smaller mode.
