How to Control Ultimine Range and Block Limits

Why You Hit a Limit

Ultimine caps how many blocks it will break in one action and how far from the original block it will search. When a vein is larger than the cap, only part of it breaks. This is intentional so a single swing cannot destroy your whole base or drain a tool instantly.

Working Within the Limit

1. Hold the Ultimine key and mine the vein as usual.

2. If blocks remain, reposition so the leftover blocks are within range of a new starting block.

3. Mine again from the new block to continue the chain.

Adjusting It

Both the maximum block count and the search range are configurable. On a server these are set by the server config, so your singleplayer settings will not carry over. If chains feel too short or too greedy, that is a config value, not a bug.

Practical Tips

  • Large modded veins often exceed the cap, so expect two or three passes.
  • Keep a spare tool or repair material handy for big chains.
  • In tight spaces, a smaller effective range is safer because it will not reach into walls you wanted to keep.
