How to Make Brass and Bronze Alloys in FTB Materials
Alloy Basics
FTB Materials includes Block of Brass and Block of Bronze, which means the mod supports alloy production. Alloys are created by combining two or more metals in a smeltery, alloy furnace, or mixer. Brass is typically made from Copper and Zinc, while Bronze is made from Copper and Tin. If your modpack does not include Zinc or Tin as separate ores, check whether FTB Materials provides them or if another mod in your pack does.
Smelting Alloys
To make Bronze, place Copper ingots and Tin ingots into your alloy smelter in the correct ratio. The exact ratio depends on your machine, but common ratios are three Copper to one Tin. The machine will output Bronze ingots or liquid Bronze that you can cast into ingots, plates, or blocks.
Brass follows a similar process with Copper and Zinc. Again, check your machine's recipe viewer for the exact ratio. Once you have liquid alloy, you can cast it directly into molds for gears, plates, or rods, saving a step compared to casting ingots first and then forming them.
Alloys are often stronger or have better properties than pure metals, making them ideal for machine casings, tools, and advanced crafting components. Keep a steady supply of Copper on hand, as it is the base for both Brass and Bronze.
