How to Find and Use Apatite, Cinnabar, and Chromium

Locating Rare Materials

Apatite, Cinnabar, and Chromium are less common than Aluminum or Bauxite. Apatite typically spawns in stone layers and drops Apatite Gems when mined. Cinnabar is often found in deeper layers and may be associated with redstone or nether quartz veins, depending on your modpack. Chromium is a deeper ore and may require iron-level or diamond-level pickaxes to mine.

Uses for Apatite

Apatite Gems and Apatite Dust are used in fertilizer recipes, wire crafting, and some chemical processes. Apatite Wire is a common component in early-game electronics. If you have a farming mod installed, Apatite is likely used to craft fertilizer or growth accelerators.

Uses for Cinnabar and Chromium

Cinnabar is often processed into Mercury or used in redstone-related crafting. Check your recipe viewer for specific uses. Chromium is a harder metal used in advanced alloys, machine frames, and high-tier tools. It may be combined with Iron or Nickel to create stainless steel or similar alloys, depending on your modpack.

Mining Tips

Bring a good pickaxe, torches, and a way to handle lava. Rare ores often spawn near lava lakes or in deep caves. Use a jetpack or grappling hook to move quickly through caves. Always mine the entire vein, as rare ores may drop multiple items per block.
