Set Up an Efficient Amethyst Farm
Locate and Prepare Your Geode
Find an amethyst geode in the Minecraft world. These generate naturally underground and contain budding amethyst blocks with crystal clusters at various growth stages. Once you've found one, clear out a working area around the budding blocks so you have easy access to all sides.
Harvest Clusters Safely
Approach any fully grown amethyst cluster and right-click it with an empty hand. The mod will drop shards without destroying the budding block underneath. With a bare hand, you'll receive two shards per harvest.
Maximize Your Yield
For better results, use a pickaxe instead of your hand—this yields four or more shards per cluster. If your pickaxe has the Fortune enchantment, the shard count increases further, making it the most efficient harvesting method.
Let Clusters Regrow
After harvesting, the crystal resets to its first growth stage and begins growing again. Leave the budding blocks in place and return periodically to harvest new clusters. This creates a sustainable farm that produces shards indefinitely without requiring replanting or block replacement.
