How to Wear Any Item as a Hat with FTB Essentials

The /hat command is one of the most fun features in FTB Essentials. It lets you put whatever you are holding into your helmet slot, so you can walk around wearing a cake, a torch, or a decorative block instead of a normal helmet.

Step-by-Step

1. Select the item you want to wear by scrolling to it in your hotbar so it is in your main hand.

2. Type /hat in chat and press enter.

3. The item disappears from your hand and appears on your head. Other players will see it too.

4. To remove it, open your inventory and take the item out of the helmet slot, or run /hat again while holding something else to swap.

Things to Know

• If you already have a helmet equipped, it will be swapped out, so make sure you are not wearing armor you want to keep on.
• The item keeps its normal properties. Wearing a pumpkin still limits your vision, and wearing a block does not give you extra protection.
• This is purely cosmetic for most items, but it is a great way to show off rare drops or troll your friends on a server.
