How to Use FTB Essentials Commands on a Server

FTB Essentials is a server-side utility mod, so most of its commands are meant to be run by players on a multiplayer server rather than in singleplayer. If you are playing alone, some commands may still work, but the mod's real purpose is giving server admins and players handy quality-of-life tools.

Checking What You Can Run

Type / in chat to open the command list and look for FTB Essentials entries. Many commands are permission-gated, so if a command returns an error about permissions, the server operator has not granted you access. Ask them to check the mod's permission config.

Everyday Commands

  • /kickme removes you from the server. Useful if you are stuck, glitched, or want to force a reconnect without asking an admin.
  • /trashcan opens a temporary inventory. Anything you drop inside is deleted when you close it, which is perfect for clearing junk items.
  • /hat moves the item in your main hand into your helmet slot, letting you wear blocks and tools cosmetically.
  • /nick changes the nickname shown in chat, so you can personalize how other players see you.

Commands Still in Development

/leaderboard and /rec appear in the command list but are not implemented yet. Running them will not do anything useful, so ignore them for now and check back after a mod update.
