Enhance Foliage and Leaf Animation
Enabling Animated Leaves
FS Shaders adds subtle waving motion to leaves and plants, bringing forests to life. This feature is usually enabled by default, but you can adjust its intensity through the shader menu.
Customizing Leaf Movement
Access your shader settings and search for foliage or animation options:
- Leaf Wave Strength: Controls how far leaves sway. Higher values create more dramatic movement; lower values produce gentle rustling.
- Wave Speed: Adjusts how quickly leaves animate. Faster speeds feel more energetic; slower speeds feel calmer.
- Affected Blocks: Some shaders let you toggle which plant types animate (leaves, tall grass, vines, etc.).
Seeing the Effect
Walk through a forest or jungle to observe the changes. Animated foliage is most noticeable when you're stationary—stand still and watch how leaves move even without wind. If the animation feels too exaggerated or distracting, reduce the wave strength. If it's barely visible, increase it. The goal is natural-looking movement that enhances atmosphere without feeling artificial or overwhelming.
