How to Defeat the Frostologer and Get the Cloak of Frostology

Finding the Frostologer

The Frostologer is Frostiful's boss-tier illager, found in cold-biome structures (castles). You will need a Castle Key to access the inner areas where the Frostologer resides. Explore ice castles and defeat Chillagers to progress toward the key.

Preparing for the Fight

• Wear full Fur Padded Chainmail or the best insulation you have — the arena is freezing and the boss uses ice magic.
• Bring a strong weapon; the Frost Wand and Frozen Rod are Frostiful weapons, but any well-enchanted sword works.
• Carry heat sources (Frozen Torches, campfire materials) to keep your freezing meter down mid-fight.
• Bring healing and a shield. The Frostologer summons Frost Spells, Packed Snowballs, and Thrown Icicles, and can call Freezing Wind.

Fighting the Frostologer

Dodge the projectile attacks and close distance to melee. Watch for the Freezing Wind — it rapidly fills your freezing meter, so retreat to a heat source if it spikes. Break line of sight when you need to heal.

Rewards

Defeating the Frostologer drops the Cloak of Frostology, a powerful cold-themed cloak, along with other loot. The Frostology Banner Pattern and Glacial Armor Trim are also tied to this content. Equip the cloak for strong cold resistance on future expeditions.
