Frostiful FAQ

Wear Fur armor (Hood, Cloak, and Pants) or Fur Padded Chainmail, and stay near a light source like a Frozen Torch or campfire. The freezing temperature system builds up over time, so you need insulation before you explore far from shelter.

The Frost Wand is a combat and utility item that applies freezing effects to targets and can interact with ice-related blocks. Pair it with the Frozen Rod for ranged frost attacks against mobs like Chillagers.

You get it by defeating the Frostologer, the mod's ice-themed boss found in frozen structures. Bring Fur armor, a strong weapon, and be ready for his frost spells and summoned minions.

Ice Skates are crafted using the Ice Skate Upgrade applied to boots, and they let you glide quickly across ice and packed ice. Armored Ice Skates are a heavier variant that trades some speed for protection.

Fur Padding is obtained from processing fur-related materials, which you gather from mobs and resources in frozen biomes. Check the Processes section of the wiki for the exact crafting chain.

Frostiful is generally compatible with most mods since it adds its own temperature system rather than replacing vanilla mechanics. Performance impact is modest, but large frozen structures and mob spawns can add load, so tweak the configuration if needed.

The Frostologer is the mod's boss mob, found in ice-themed structures in frozen biomes. Defeating him rewards the Cloak of Frostology, which grants strong cold resistance.

The Frostologer is a new take on the Iceologer from Minecraft Dungeons and a master of Frostology magic. It resides in snowy fortresses in the Snowy Plains and Ice Spikes biomes, is strengthened by cold, and drops the Frost Wand when defeated.

The Frost Wand is the weapon of the Frostologer and can be crafted after defeating one. It casts spells that freeze enemies in place when they are hit.

The Cloak of Frostology is an obtainable cape item earned by defeating an Ominous Frostologer Trial. It reverses the effects of freezing so you become like the Frostologer, but you will begin to melt if you get too warm.

You can warm up by the light of a fire, by getting heat from a Sun Lichen-covered rock, or by stealing heat from enemies with the Enervation enchantment. Fur Tufts can be used to craft fur armor, which provides Frost Resistance.
