How to Craft and Use Fur Armor to Resist Freezing

Gathering Fur Padding

Fur gear is the core insulation set in Frostiful. You need Fur Padding, which is crafted from fur dropped by cold-biome mobs (and obtained through other fur sources in the mod). Collect enough padding to craft each armor piece plus the upgrade material.

Crafting the Set

Craft each piece using Fur Padding in the standard armor shape:

• Fur Hood (helmet slot)
• Fur Cloak (chest slot)
• Fur Pants (legs slot)
• Fur Boots (boots slot)

Wearing the full set gives the strongest insulation against the freezing meter. Partial sets still help but leave you vulnerable on long expeditions.

Upgrading to Fur Padded Chainmail

Once you have chainmail, use the Fur Padded Chainmail Upgrade smithing template to convert each chainmail piece into Fur Padded Chainmail (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots). These combine chainmail's protection with fur's insulation, making them the best all-round cold-weather armor.

Tips

• Combine fur armor with a heat source (campfire, Frozen Torch) for maximum safety.
• Enchantments that reduce damage help, but insulation is what keeps the freezing meter down.
• Keep a spare set at your base in case you die far from home.
