Stop Your Pets from Hurting Each Other
Pet-to-Pet Protection
The Friendly Fire Mod prevents your own pets from damaging other pets you own. This stops accidental harm during combat or when multiple tamed mobs are in close proximity.
How It Works
When you own multiple pets:
- They cannot hurt each other in combat
- Splash potions and area-of-effect damage won't harm your other pets
- Baby animals owned by you receive extra protection
- This applies to pets from the base game and most modded pet mods
When This Applies
Protection only works between pets with the same owner. Pets belonging to different players can still fight each other, even in multiplayer.
Allowing Pet Combat
If you want your pets to damage each other for testing or specific gameplay reasons, you can:
- Sneak while attacking to bypass protection on individual hits
- Modify the configuration to disable pet-to-pet protection entirely
- Use commands or config options to whitelist specific mob types for combat
Practical Benefit
This feature is invaluable when managing large groups of tamed mobs, allowing you to fight alongside them without worrying about friendly fire between your own creatures.
