Prevent Baby Animals from Taking Any Damage
Baby Animal Immunity
The Friendly Fire Mod includes a feature that makes baby animals immune to damage from all sources by default. This protects young mobs from environmental hazards, other mobs, and player attacks.
How It Works
Baby animals automatically receive protection without any setup required. They cannot be harmed by:
- Your attacks or weapons
- Other players' attacks (in multiplayer with server-side mod)
- Mob damage
- Environmental damage (fire, fall damage, drowning)
- Potions and status effects
Disabling Baby Immunity
If you want baby animals to take damage, you'll need to modify the mod's configuration file. Look for settings related to "baby animal immunity" or "baby protection" in your config folder and disable it.
Practical Uses
This feature is especially helpful when:
- Breeding animals and keeping offspring safe during early growth
- Fighting near baby mobs without worrying about collateral damage
- Protecting rare or valuable young creatures from accidental harm
Baby immunity works across most modded pets as well, providing consistent protection regardless of the mob type.
