Fixing Freshly Modded Resource Pack Not Working With Fresh Animations

The most frequent problem players hit is that Freshly Modded seems to do nothing. Almost always this traces back to how it interacts with Fresh Animations, since the two are designed to be used together.

Confirm Both Packs Are Active

Freshly Modded is an extension, not a standalone pack. If Fresh Animations isn't enabled, the modded animations have nothing to build on. Enable both and place Fresh Animations above Freshly Modded in the resource pack list.

Resolve Conflicts

Other packs that touch entity models or animations can override Freshly Modded. Temporarily disable all other entity-related packs, then re-enable them one at a time to find the culprit. Texture-only packs are usually safe; animation and model packs are the ones to watch.

Verify the Right Files Load

  • Ensure the pack version matches your game version, since mismatched packs may silently fail.
  • Reload resources with the in-game reload key after changing the order.
  • Test in a fresh world if an existing save behaves oddly.

When It Still Fails

If vanilla mobs animate but modded ones don't, the specific mod likely isn't supported yet. If nothing animates, the load order or a conflict is the cause. Work through order first, then conflicts, then coverage.
