Freshly Modded Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need Fresh Animations installed for Freshly Modded to work?
Yes. Freshly Modded is an add-on that builds on Fresh Animations, so Fresh Animations must be enabled alongside it or the modded mobs will fall back to vanilla animations. Load Freshly Modded above Fresh Animations in your resource pack list.
How do I make Freshly Modded actually apply to my modded mobs?
Enable the pack in Options > Resource Packs and move it to the top of the selected list so nothing overrides its entity files. Then reload with F3+T and check a modded mob in-game to confirm the new animations are playing.
Which mods does Freshly Modded support?
It covers entity models from a range of popular creature-focused mods, but support is added per-mod rather than universally. If a mob from your mod isn't animated, that mod likely isn't covered yet, so check the pack's file list or documentation for the current supported set.
Why do my modded mobs still look vanilla even with the pack on?
The most common causes are load order (another pack overriding the entity files) or the mob's mod not being supported. Try putting Freshly Modded at the very top of your pack list and reloading before assuming the mob is unsupported.
Can I use Freshly Modded with other animation packs like Fresh Moves?
Yes, but they must not conflict over the same entity files. Place Freshly Modded above or below the other pack depending on which animations you want to win, and test mobs in-game to see which pack is taking priority.
Does Freshly Modded work with texture packs that change mob textures?
Yes. Freshly Modded only changes animation and model files, not textures, so texture packs can sit alongside it. Just keep Freshly Modded above texture packs that also touch entity models to avoid overriding its animations.
Will Freshly Modded hurt my FPS?
Animated entities cost more to render than static ones, so performance depends on how many animated modded mobs are on screen at once. If you notice drops in mob-heavy areas, reduce the number of animated entities by disabling the pack temporarily or lowering your render distance.
Do I need to install anything on the server for this to work?
No. Resource packs are client-side, so each player who wants the animations must enable Freshly Modded and Fresh Animations in their own game. The server does not need the pack installed.
Why do some modded mobs animate and others don't?
Freshly Modded only includes animation files for mobs whose mods are supported, so unsupported mobs keep their default animations. This is expected behavior, not a bug, and support grows as the pack is updated.
How do I update Freshly Modded without breaking my setup?
Replace the old pack file with the new one, keep it in the same position in your resource pack list, and reload with F3+T. If animations break after updating, re-check that Fresh Animations is still enabled and that no other pack has moved above it.
