Making Player Animations Work in Multiplayer and on Servers
Understand What Is Client-Side
Fresh Animations: Player Extension is a resource pack, so it runs entirely on your client. It changes how player models are rendered for you — it does not need to be installed on the server, and the server cannot force it on or off. Other players only see the animations if they also have the pack installed.
Install It for Your Client
Join the server first, then open Options → Resource Packs while connected. Add the base Fresh Animations pack and the Player Extension, order the extension on top, and apply. Because resource packs are client-side, this works on any server that allows client resource packs — including servers where you cannot upload files.
Check Server Resource Pack Settings
Some servers push their own resource pack on join. A server-forced pack can sit above yours and override player animations. If your animations vanish only on one server, that server's pack is likely winning. You usually cannot reorder a server-forced pack, so the animations may simply be unavailable there.
Verify With Other Players
Ask a friend who also has the pack to walk, sprint, and jump near you. Compare their motion to a player without the pack. If only some players animate, those without the pack are still using vanilla poses — that is expected, not a bug.
Performance Note
Animating every nearby player costs more than animating mobs. On busy servers, lower your render distance or entity settings if you notice stutter.
