Fresh Animations: Player Extension Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on player animations after installing this pack?
Make sure Fresh Animations itself is installed and enabled alongside the Player Extension, since the extension depends on the base pack's animation system. Then enable both packs in your resource pack list, with the Player Extension placed above Fresh Animations.
Why do my player animations look the same as vanilla?
The most common cause is that the base Fresh Animations pack is missing or loaded below the Player Extension instead of above it. Check that both packs are active and that the extension sits higher in the resource pack order.
Do other players see my animations in multiplayer?
No, resource packs are client-side, so only you see the animated player models. Other players will see your animations only if they also have Fresh Animations and the Player Extension installed on their own client.
Can I use this on a server with vanilla clients?
Yes, the pack is purely visual and doesn't change gameplay, so vanilla clients can join without issues. They simply won't see the animations unless they install the pack themselves.
Does this work with other player model or skin packs?
It can conflict with packs that replace the player model or texture files, since both try to edit the same assets. Load the Player Extension above other player-related packs, or test them one at a time to find conflicts.
Why does my game lag or drop fps with this pack?
Animated player models add extra rendering work, especially in crowded multiplayer servers or with many players nearby. Lowering your render distance or disabling other heavy resource packs usually helps.
Does it work with shaders?
Shaders and this pack edit different things, so they usually coexist fine, but some shader packs that alter entity rendering can interfere with animations. If animations break, try switching shader packs or disabling them temporarily to test.
Why do animations only show for some players and not others?
Animations apply to player models using the standard player texture, so players with custom models, capes, or modded skins may not animate correctly. This is a limitation of how the pack hooks into the player model rather than a bug.
Can I disable animations for just myself or specific players?
The pack doesn't include per-player toggles, so you can only enable or disable it globally through your resource pack list. If you want it off temporarily, just move it below Fresh Animations or disable it entirely.
Does this pack change first-person animations or just third-person?
It focuses on the third-person player model, so arm swings, walking, and idle poses look smoother when viewed from outside. First-person hand animations are largely unaffected because they use a separate rendering path.
