How to Enable Player Animations with Fresh Animations: Player Extension
Confirm the Base Pack Is Active
Fresh Animations: Player Extension does not work on its own. It layers on top of the base Fresh Animations resource pack, which handles the shared animation framework. Open Options → Resource Packs and make sure the base Fresh Animations pack sits above the vanilla "Default" entry in the selected list. The Player Extension should be placed directly above the base pack so it can override player-specific animation files without being overwritten.
Order the Packs Correctly
Resource packs apply top-down, so the topmost pack wins conflicts. Put the Player Extension at the very top, the base Fresh Animations pack just below it, and any other cosmetic packs beneath those. If another pack also edits player models (capes, skin overlays, armor retextures), it may fight the extension — move the extension above it and reload.
Reload and Verify
Press F3 + T to reload resources without restarting. Watch another player (or your own third-person view with F5) walk, sprint, sneak, and swing. You should see smoother limb motion and idle sway rather than the stiff vanilla pose. If nothing changes, the pack is either disabled, mis-ordered, or being overridden by a higher pack.
Common Fixes
- Pack shows red/outdated: it targets a different game version than you run.
- Animations appear on mobs but not players: the extension is below another player-editing pack.
- Nothing animates at all: the base Fresh Animations pack is missing or disabled.
