How to Fix Fresh Animations Emissive Not Glowing (Load Order & Compatibility)

Check Your Pack Order First

The emissive pack does nothing on its own — it only adds glow layers on top of the base Fresh Animations pack. Open Options → Resource Packs and look at the right-hand "Selected" column. The emissive pack must sit directly above Fresh Animations. If it's below, drag it up with the arrows. If Fresh Animations isn't in the list at all, the emissive pack has nothing to attach its glow textures to, so add it back first.

Rule Out Conflicting Packs

This pack is designed to run alone on top of its base pack. Other packs that touch the same mob textures — shader-adjacent packs, mob retextures, or other emissive add-ons — will overwrite the glow layers and you'll see plain mobs at night. Disable everything except Fresh Animations and the emissive pack, then reload with F3 + T (or just re-enter the resource pack screen) and test in a dark area.

Confirm It's Actually Working

Glow only shows where light is low, so test at night or in an unlit cave. Spawn or find a mob the pack affects — a Drowned underwater, a Stray in a snowy biome, or a Ghast in the Nether — and look for bright eyes or body highlights. If a mob glows but another doesn't, that's expected: the pack only covers its listed creatures, not every mob in the game. If nothing glows after reordering and reloading, your base pack version may not match the emissive pack's target version.
