Fresh Animations Emissive Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why aren't my mobs glowing after I installed this pack?
The emissive pack does nothing on its own — it only adds glow on top of the base Fresh Animations pack. Make sure Fresh Animations is installed and that the emissive pack sits above it in your resource pack list.
Does the emissive pack need to go above or below Fresh Animations?
It must be placed above the base Fresh Animations pack in your load order. If it loads below, the base pack's textures overwrite the glow and nothing lights up.
Which mobs actually glow with this pack?
It targets animated mobs like Drowned, Guardians, Elder Guardians, Strays, Wolves, Bees, Piglins, Hoglins, Ghasts, Bats, and Bogged skeletons. The glow is added to specific features such as eyes and body parts, not the whole mob.
Can I use this pack without Fresh Animations installed?
No. The emissive textures are built to match the animated models and textures from the base pack, so without it you'll get missing or broken-looking textures.
Why do the glowing eyes look wrong or misaligned?
This usually means another resource pack is overriding the same mob textures, or the load order is wrong. Keep the emissive pack above Fresh Animations and avoid stacking other packs that edit the same mobs.
Does this pack work with shaders?
It can work with shaders, but results vary because many shaders handle emissive textures differently or add their own glow. If the glow looks off, try a different shader or check whether your shader has an emissive option.
Will this pack hurt my performance or FPS?
It's a resource pack, so the impact is mostly on memory and load time rather than frame rate. If you're already running shaders or many packs, adding this one can push you over your available resources.
Can I use this with other resource packs at the same time?
It's designed to work best on its own. Mixing it with packs that also edit mob textures or add their own emissive effects often causes conflicts, so test carefully and adjust load order if something breaks.
How do I spot hostile mobs at night using the glow?
Look for the bright eyes and body highlights on mobs like Drowned, Strays, and cave creatures — they stand out against dark terrain. This makes it easier to notice threats before they get close, especially in caves and underwater.
Where should I go to test whether the pack is working?
Try a dark cave for Bats and Bogged, a deep ocean or ocean monument for Drowned and Guardians, and the Nether for Piglins, Hoglins, and Ghasts. If those mobs show glowing features, the pack is loading correctly.
