Finding the Right Pickaxe

To get the most Netherite Scraps from Ancient Debris, you need a pickaxe enchanted with Fortune. The higher the Fortune level, the more scraps drop per block. Craft or find a diamond or netherite pickaxe, then enchant it at an enchanting table or anvil with Fortune III for maximum yield.

Mining Strategy

Locate Ancient Debris in the lower Nether, typically between Y-levels where it spawns most frequently. Use your Fortune pickaxe to break each block. Each Ancient Debris will now drop multiple Netherite Scraps instead of requiring smelting.

Efficiency Tips

Combine Fortune with Unbreaking to keep your pickaxe durable during long mining sessions. If you find Ancient Debris but don't have your Fortune pickaxe equipped, mark the location and return prepared. Never use a regular pickaxe on Ancient Debris when you have Fortune available—you'll miss out on extra scraps.
