When to Use Silk Touch

While Fortune gives you more scraps, Silk Touch lets you preserve the original Ancient Debris block itself. This is useful if you want to relocate blocks, create a collection, or process them later under different conditions.

Mining with Silk Touch

Equip a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch and break the Ancient Debris as normal. The block will drop as an item instead of converting to Netherite Scraps. You can then place it anywhere—your base, a storage area, or a dedicated mining chamber.

Storage and Transport

Ancient Debris blocks are stackable and relatively lightweight to carry. Collect them in your inventory or use a hopper system to funnel them into storage. Later, you can decide whether to mine them with Fortune or keep them as decorative blocks. This approach gives you flexibility if you're unsure how many scraps you'll need immediately.
