Forge Endertech FAQ
19 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does Forge Endertech actually do on its own?
Forge Endertech is a shared library, not a standalone content mod. It provides the common code, configs, and assets that all Endertech mods rely on, so on its own it adds little you can interact with in-world.
Do I need Forge Endertech if I only want one Endertech mod?
Yes. Every Endertech mod depends on it, so you must install Forge Endertech alongside any single one of them. Removing it will cause that mod to fail to load or crash.
How do I know Forge Endertech is installed correctly?
Check your mod list in-game and confirm Forge Endertech appears alongside the Endertech mods you installed. If your Endertech mods load without a missing dependency error, the library is working.
Why does my game crash saying Forge Endertech is missing?
This means an Endertech mod is present but the library itself is not, or the versions are mismatched. Install the matching Forge Endertech build for your Minecraft version and make sure it sits in the same mods folder.
Can I remove Forge Endertech if I don't use any Endertech mods?
Yes, if none of the Endertech mods are installed, Forge Endertech does nothing and can be safely removed. If any Endertech mod remains, removing the library will break it.
Does Forge Endertech change world generation or add ores?
No, the library itself does not generate ores or terrain. Ore generation and world features come from the individual Endertech mods such as
Large Ore Deposits, which use the library's shared systems.
Large Ore Deposits, which use the library's shared systems.Where do I configure Forge Endertech settings?
Its config files live in the usual config folder for your modpack or instance, and individual Endertech mods often expose their own options there too. Edit those files to tune behavior shared across the Endertech mods.
Is Forge Endertech compatible with other mods and modpacks?
It is designed as a lightweight shared library, so it generally coexists with other mods without conflict. Problems usually come from version mismatches between the library and the Endertech mods, not from unrelated mods.
Will Forge Endertech hurt my performance or FPS?
As a library it adds minimal overhead by itself; performance impact comes from the Endertech mods that use it. If you notice lag, look at which Endertech mods are active and their configs rather than the library.
Do I need to update Forge Endertech when I update an Endertech mod?
Yes, keep the library in step with your Endertech mods, since newer mod versions may require a newer library. Update Forge Endertech together with the Endertech mods to avoid dependency errors.
Do I need Forge Endertech if I only installed one Endertech mod?
Yes. Every Endertech mod (
Advanced Finders,
Pollution of the Realms,
Advanced Chimneys,
To the Bat Poles,
Large Ore Deposits,
Advanced Hook Launchers) lists Forge Endertech as a required dependency, even if you only run a single one.

Check your mod list in-game — it should appear there alongside the Endertech mods you installed. If the dependent mods load without a missing-dependency crash, the library is working.
The game crashes saying Forge Endertech is missing — what do I do?
This means the library jar isn't in your mods folder or is the wrong version for your Minecraft/Forge build. Add the matching Forge Endertech file for your game version and make sure it sits in the same mods folder as the mod that needs it.
Can I remove Forge Endertech to save space if I don't use Endertech mods?
Yes, if no Endertech mod is installed it does nothing and can be removed safely. If any Endertech mod is present, removing it will crash the game on startup.
Does Forge Endertech have its own config file I need to edit?
It can generate a config, but the settings you actually care about (ore spawn rates, pollution behavior, chimney ranges, etc.) live in each individual Endertech mod's config. Leave the library's config alone unless a specific mod's docs tell you otherwise.
Will Forge Endertech conflict with other library mods like Cloth Config or Architectury?
No — it's a self-contained library and doesn't replace or conflict with other config/API libraries. Conflicts you see are almost always between the Endertech content mods and other gameplay mods, not the library itself.
Do all Endertech mods need the same version of Forge Endertech?
They need a version compatible with your Minecraft and Forge build, and generally the latest Forge Endertech for that game version works with all current Endertech mods. If one mod was built against an older library, update the mod rather than downgrading the library.
Does Forge Endertech affect performance or server TPS?
The library itself is lightweight and adds negligible overhead. Any lag you notice comes from the content mods it powers (large ore veins, pollution simulation, chimney smoke), so tune those mods' configs if performance drops.
After updating an Endertech mod, do I need to update Forge Endertech too?
Usually yes — newer Endertech mod versions often call methods added in a newer library build. Update Forge Endertech at the same time to avoid startup crashes or missing-method errors.
