Troubleshooting Missing or Wrong Food Tooltips
Confirm the Item Is Food
This mod only adds lines to items the game treats as food. Blocks, potions, and non-food consumables will not show hunger, saturation, or food-effect lines. If a tooltip looks unchanged, check whether the item is actually edible.
Check for Conflicts
Other mods can also modify tooltips. If lines are missing, duplicated, or out of order, another tooltip mod may be overwriting them. Try disabling other tooltip-altering mods one at a time to see which one is responsible. Load order can also matter — if two mods both append lines, the result may look jumbled.
Verify the Effect Actually Applies
If the tooltip lists an effect but you do not see it after eating, remember chance-based effects may simply not have triggered that time. Eat another item and check again. Guaranteed effects should always appear in your effects HUD immediately after eating.
When Nothing Shows
- Make sure you are hovering the item itself, not an empty slot.
- Some screens hide advanced tooltips until you enable them in options — check your tooltip settings.
- If only one specific food is affected, that food may be added by another mod whose effects this mod cannot read. In that case the vanilla lines still show, but modded effects may not.
