Stop Your View Distance From Flickering

Understanding Cooldown Timers

View distance flickering happens when your render distance changes too frequently in response to small frame rate fluctuations. The mod includes a built-in cooldown system that prevents these rapid adjustments.

How to Configure

1. Press F8 to open the settings card

2. Locate the Cooldown setting (measured in seconds)

3. Increase the cooldown value to add more delay between distance adjustments

4. A higher cooldown means the mod waits longer before responding to frame rate changes

5. Click Done to save

Alternatively, use the chat command: /drd cooldown <seconds>

Finding Your Sweet Spot

Start with a moderate cooldown value. If you still see flickering during gameplay, increase it further. If adjustments feel too sluggish and unresponsive to actual performance drops, lower it. The goal is smooth transitions that don't distract you while still protecting against momentary frame dips.
