Keep Your View Distance Within Specific Limits

Setting Chunk Boundaries

You may want to prevent your view distance from becoming too extreme—either too close (claustrophobic) or too far (causing lag spikes). The mod lets you define hard minimum and maximum chunk limits.

Configuration Steps

1. Press F8 to open the settings card

2. Find the Minimum Chunks and Maximum Chunks fields

3. Set your minimum to the closest you're willing to render (e.g., 4 chunks)

4. Set your maximum to the farthest you want to see (e.g., 16 chunks)

5. Click Done to apply

You can also use chat commands:

  • /drd minChunks <value> for the lower bound
  • /drd maxChunks <value> for the upper bound

Why This Matters

Limits prevent the mod from over-correcting. On a powerful machine, you might cap the maximum to save resources. On a weak machine, you might set a higher minimum to avoid claustrophobic close-range rendering during lag spikes.
