Explore Layered Forests and Find Rare Tree Variants
Understanding Forest Layers
Florest Mod replaces flat, uniform forests with trees of varying heights and shapes. Instead of all trees being identical, you'll now find giant branching oaks towering above the canopy alongside small bushes and saplings at ground level. This creates a natural, tiered appearance.
How to Find Different Tree Types
Walk through any standard forest, dark forest, or cherry grove biome and look up. You'll notice:
- Tall trees dominating the upper canopy
- Medium trees filling the middle layer
- Small bushes and saplings covering the forest floor
Each tree type uses standard Minecraft wood blocks, so you can harvest them normally. The variety appears naturally as you explore—no special tools or items needed. Dark forests will have denser, taller trees, while cherry groves feature their own unique layered variants.
Take time to walk through different forest areas; the mod generates these layers procedurally, so each forest feels distinct. This makes exploration rewarding and gives forests a lived-in, wild appearance rather than a planted orchard feel.
