Florest Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to start a new world for Florest Mod to work?
Yes, you should create a new world for the mod to generate its layered forests and natural ground from the start. Adding it to an existing world will only affect newly generated chunks, leaving old areas unchanged.
Will this mod change my mountains, caves, or other terrain?
No, Florest Mod only affects forests, ground decoration, and biome-specific floors. Your world's mountains, caves, and overall terrain shape stay exactly the same.
What biomes does Florest Mod change?
The mod updates forests (broadleaf trees in standard and dark forests, cherry groves), taiga and snowy areas (conifer trees), jungles (tropical vegetation), swamps (wetlands), and plains/meadows/savannas (open lands).
Can I find new items or blocks to craft?
No, Florest Mod uses only existing Minecraft blocks and doesn't add new items or crafting recipes. Everything you see is made from standard game materials.
Why do some trees look really tall and others are tiny bushes?
Florest Mod replaces flat, uniform forests with layered trees of different heights to look more natural. Tall oaks and small bushes grow together in the same forest, creating visual variety.
Where should I look for fallen logs?
Fallen logs and stumps are scattered throughout forested areas as dead wood on the ground. They're most common in older-looking woods and add to the wild, natural feel of the landscape.
What's different about the ground in swamps?
Swamps now have mud on the forest floor instead of uniform grass, and you'll find pebbles near water edges. This makes swamp terrain feel more realistic and distinct from other biomes.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Florest Mod uses only vanilla blocks and doesn't add new mechanics, so it should have minimal performance impact. If you experience lag, it's likely due to your overall world size or other mods, not this one.
Do boulders block my path or affect mining?
Boulders are made of stone, andesite, and mossy cobblestone and can be mined like normal blocks. They're decorative features placed around the landscape and won't prevent you from exploring or building.
Can I disable Florest Mod for specific biomes?
Check the mod's configuration file for biome-specific settings if you want to customize which areas are affected. Most mod managers allow you to adjust these options before generating your world.
