Flez’s Fullbright Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why can I still see dark areas even with the pack installed?
Make sure the resource pack is actually enabled in your world settings—go to Options > Resource Packs and confirm it's in the active list on the right side. If it's enabled and caves are still dark, you may need to reload your world or restart the game for changes to take effect.
Does this pack work with other resource packs?
Yes, but pack order matters. Place Flez's Fullbright Resource Pack higher in your active list (closer to the top) so its lighting changes override other packs' textures and shaders.
Will mobs still spawn in bright caves?
Yes, mobs spawn based on light level, not what you see on screen. Even though caves appear bright to you, hostile mobs will still spawn in areas that are technically dark—you'll just see them more easily.
Can I use this with Optifine or shader mods?
Fullbright packs can conflict with shaders that control lighting. If you're using shaders, disable them or check if your shader has its own fullbright option instead.
Does the pack change block textures or just brightness?
It only adjusts lighting and removes shadows—all block textures stay the same, so your world looks normal but fully illuminated.
Why do I still need to place torches for mob spawning control?
The pack makes caves visible but doesn't change how the game calculates light levels for spawning. You still need torches or other light sources to prevent hostile mobs from spawning in areas you want to keep safe.
Does this work in the Nether and End?
Yes, it brightens those dimensions too, making it easier to navigate the Nether's dark caverns and spot valuable blocks in both dimensions.
Will this affect my FPS or performance?
Fullbright packs have minimal performance impact since they only modify lighting values, not add new effects or particles. You should see no noticeable FPS drop.
How do I turn off the fullbright effect temporarily?
Disable the resource pack in Options > Resource Packs by moving it to the inactive list, then reload your world. Re-enable it the same way when you want it back.
Does this pack work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so servers won't block it. However, other players won't see the brightness changes you see—it only affects your view.
