Flatline Perspective Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start using this mod?
Open your inventory in-game and type a render command in chat, like `/render item diamond` to export an item as an image. Your exported images save to a folder on your device that you can open with `/render folder`.
What's the difference between rendering an item and rendering a mob?
Items and blocks render as flat isometric icons suitable for GUIs or documentation, while mobs render as full entity models in the same orthographic view so you can capture their appearance from a clean angle.
Can I render items with NBT data or enchantments?
Yes, the `/render item` command captures the full item stack including components, enchantments, and custom names, so the exported image shows exactly what you see in your inventory.
How do I render every item in a creative tab at once?
Use `/render item creative ` where ` ` is the name of the creative inventory tab (like `building_blocks` or `tools`), and the mod generates one image per item in that tab automatically.
What happens if I try to render a region with mobs in it?
The `/render region` command captures both the blocks and all living entities (mobs, animals, players) standing in that area, so you get a complete snapshot of the world state at that moment.
Do I need to be in Creative mode to use this mod?
No, the mod works in any game mode on the client side, though Creative mode makes it easier to position yourself and gather items for rendering.
Will rendering lag my game or affect my server?
Rendering happens entirely on your client and doesn't send data to the server, so it won't cause lag for other players or require any special server setup.
Can I customize the file names of my exported images?
Yes, you can use item IDs or custom display names when exporting, so your image files are organized and easy to identify.
What image format do the exports use?
The mod exports images in a standard format suitable for use in documentation, GUIs, and resource packs; check your export folder to see the file type.
Why does my rendered item look different from what I expected?
Make sure you're using the exact item ID in your command and that any components or enchantments are applied before rendering; also check that your resource pack isn't overriding the item's texture.
