Creating Cinematic Camera Shots from Replays
Setting Up Your Shot
Cinematic shots are the heart of the Flashback Mod. Load a replay, then enter the cinematic camera mode. This detaches your view from the recorded player and lets you place the camera anywhere in the scene.
1. Load your replay from the playback menu.
2. Switch to cinematic or free camera mode.
3. Position the camera where you want the shot to begin.
4. Set a keyframe to mark the starting position.
Building Camera Movement
Move the camera to a new position and set another keyframe. The mod interpolates between keyframes, creating smooth camera motion. Add more keyframes for complex paths — sweeping pans, orbiting shots, or dolly moves through a build.
Adjust the field of view for dramatic wide shots or tight close-ups. Lower FOV values give a more cinematic, compressed look; higher values exaggerate space. Combine slow camera movement with a low FOV for a classic film feel.
Preview your shot by playing it back before exporting. Tweak keyframe timing if the motion feels too fast or slow. Save each shot separately so you can assemble them into a full sequence later.
