Maximizing Casting Distance for Entity Flinging

Understanding Line Length and Pulling Distance

The Fishing Ruler Mod displays your current line length above the hotbar. This length directly determines how far you can pull entities toward you when reeling in. Longer lines mean you can fling mobs and items much farther.

How to Cast Farther

1. Hold your fishing rod and look at the line length indicator

2. Cast your line into water, aiming for maximum distance

3. Watch the indicator update as your line extends

4. The farther your hook travels before catching, the longer your line becomes

5. Reel in to pull entities across greater distances

Practical Applications

This is especially useful for:

  • Moving mobs away from your location without approaching them
  • Pulling items from hard-to-reach places
  • Gathering hostile mobs into a specific area for a farm or trap

The longer your line, the more dramatic the fling effect. Experiment with different casting angles and distances to maximize how far you can pull things toward you.
