How to Fix FastQuit Saves That Feel Slow or Cause Stutter

Diagnose the cause

FastQuit moves saving off the main thread, but it still uses your disk and CPU. If saves feel slow or you notice stutter while playing, the usual culprits are save priority set too high, a slow drive, or a very large world.

Tune the settings

1. Open FastQuit's config through Mod Menu.

2. Lower the save priority. This tells the mod to be gentler with system resources, which reduces stutter at the cost of longer save times.

3. Turn toast notifications off if the popups themselves are distracting you; they do not affect performance.

4. Enable show save time temporarily so you can measure whether your changes actually helped.

Other things to check

  • Make sure your world is not on a nearly full or failing drive; background writes slow down dramatically there.
  • Very large worlds with many chunks and entities naturally take longer to save regardless of the mod.
  • If stutter only happens right after quitting a world, that is the background save competing for resources. Lowering priority is the main fix.

After adjusting, enter and exit a world a few times and compare the save times you enabled to confirm the change worked.
