How to Delete or Edit a World While FastQuit Is Still Saving It

Why this is possible

FastQuit keeps the world visible and interactive in your world list even while the background save runs. That means you can rename, change settings, recreate, or delete a world without waiting for the save to finish. This is convenient but should be done with care.

Recommended order of operations

1. Quit the world to the title screen. Note whether the world still shows a saving indicator.

2. If you only want to edit settings (game mode, cheats, world name), you can usually do this right away from the world list's edit button.

3. Deleting mid-save can leave partial files behind, and the mod's protection is designed around normal saves, not deletion during a write.

4. If you want to recreate a world from the same seed, copy the seed first, then delete or create the new world after the save completes.

If you deleted too early

Stop playing immediately, do not create new worlds in the same slot, and check your saves folder for leftover files. Recovery is not guaranteed, so treat deletion during an active save as a last resort.
