Making Paintings Work With Shaders and Other Mods
Why Conflicts Happen
Fast Paintings optimizes how paintings are drawn, and shader packs or other rendering mods also hook into the same drawing pipeline. When two mods both try to control painting rendering, you can get flickering, blank canvases, or paintings that disappear at certain angles.
Testing and Isolating
1. Reproduce the problem with your full mod set so you know it is real.
2. Disable shaders first and reload — if paintings render correctly, the shader pack is the likely culprit.
3. If the issue persists, temporarily remove other rendering or optimization mods one at a time to find the conflict.
4. Re-enable mods gradually and watch paintings after each change.
Working Around It
If a shader pack conflicts, check whether it has a setting for entity or painting rendering and adjust it. Some packs handle paintings differently, so trying a different pack or profile can resolve it. When reporting an issue, note which shader or rendering mods are active, since painting rendering is shared territory. Fast Paintings itself does not add configuration for painting appearance — it only changes how they are drawn — so visual fixes usually come from the shader side.
